Game Of Thrones: 10 Worst Things The Starks Have Ever Done

3. Robb Doomed The North

Though he was thrown into leadership far sooner than anyone would have expected, as Lord of Winterfell, the King in the North, and a commander in the field, Robb Stark seemed greater than his years. Ned's son outsmarted Tywin and Jaime Lannister in battle, rallied the entire north beneath the Stark direwolf, and made tough decisions in a way that would have made his father proud.

Robb won every battle he ever fought, but his ultimate undoing showed just how young and naive he was. After promising to marry one of Walder Frey's daughters, Robb betrayed his would be father-in-law by marrying Talisa instead, quite poetically burning a bridge he couldn't afford to burn. A decision that cost the King in the North and his entire army their lives.

Throughout Game of Thrones, we saw many characters face tough decisions, doing things they didn't want to do. Jon had to keep his oath and remain at Castle Black instead of joining Robb after Ned's death, Cersei married Robert Baratheon, forging an alliance for the good of her House, and Daenerys married Hizdahr zo Loraq, putting the good of her people over her own happiness.

This, however, was not something Robb Stark was prepared to do, and it cost him and the north everything.
