Game Of Thrones: 12 Things You Learn Rewatching Season 2

7. This Is Tyrion's Best Season

When discussing the best characters in Game of Thrones, Tyrion's name is always at least near the top, if not right in the #1 spot. Looking back, though, it bizarrely feels like he peaked in Season 2.

While he'd continue to be great for a couple more years - Seasons 5-7 have pushed him more to the periphery and wasted him for large portions - and his single best moment is yet to come, the Tyrion of Season 2 is likely the defining image people have when saying he's the best character. And at this point, it's true.

As Hand of the King, Tyrion is right at the heart of all the political machinations. He's playing Varys, Littlefinger, and Pycelle (the Myrcella plot he plants with each is a season standout). He's verbally sparring with Cersei. He's slapping Joffrey some more. He's in his element, and viewers should be in their element watching him. He gets the best lines, the big speech, and the most fun things to do. Where's that gone?
