Game Of Thrones: 15 Early Predictions For Season 8

5. The Golden Company Will Betray Cersei

There's a pretty major flaw in Cersei's plan to send Euron to hire the Golden Company using the Iron Bank's financial assistance that she's probably going to find out in the worst way possible. Their loyalty may be bought, but even the most infamous sell-swords in the Seven Kingdoms have higher priorities occasionally.

In the books, of course, the Golden Company swear their allegiance to Young Griff - otherwise known as the surviving Aegon Targaryen - but it seems unlikely we'll even see him, given how late it is in the story and the decision to give Jon that real name too. But their allegiance to Young Griff could offer a model for how the show goes.

The books establish that the Company choose to break their contract and back Dany (and then eventually Danaerys), because of their indirect loyalty to the Targaryen House (in reality, their loyalty to cadet House, Blackfyre) and their wish to go home from exile. What if we're about to see the same thing happen with the show's Company and Cersei?

It would fit to see the Company appear to work with Cersei only to reveal their true colours, betraying her to align with Dany and Jon and causing her a near fatal blow that all but ends the war between the Houses.

And of course, if they go appear (whether they betray Cersei or not), we're hopefully going to end up seeing some Full Frontal Elephant Warfare. Just imagine elephants battling polar bears (and maybe ice spiders).
