Game Of Thrones' 15 Hardest Characters (And How Likely They Are To Survive)

10. Areo Hotah

Game of Thrones Jaime and Bronn
HBO

New to Game of thrones, Areo Hotah is currently installed as Prince Doran Martell's Captain of The Guard. His incredibly unique weapon looks as durable as a greatsword with the reach of one of Oberyn's spears. That's important to note as Areo and his spear are as inseparable as they are durable and very intimidating.

We have only seen him in any kind of fight once so how he fares against the other entrants is a mystery. His elegant and swift control of his gigantic axe was followed by accurate and gentle placement right at Jamie Lannister's throat in the fifth season was terrifying. His following remark that, were the Kingslayer whole, it would have been a good fight is a good indicator that he judges himself high if not top.

The Dornish have a reputation for being rowdy and violent, with one even effectively killing the Mountain. Areo's place at the head of Prince Doran's guard pits him both against Dornish assailants and foreign ones, and such an intelligent man putting him in this position is more telling than anything we've seen so far.

What endangers his position is his prince. Or, more specifically, what Cersei will think of him after sending her daughter home a corpse. There are volatile times ahead and being in a position of protection, you can only be so safe.

Chance Of Survival: 45%
