Game Of Thrones: 18 Actors Who Were Replaced

9. Ed Skrein (Daario Naharis)

The Replacement: Michiel Huisman

Ed Skrein's departure from Game Of Thrones is easily the most high profile recasting in the show's history. He initially played Daario Naharis as a long-haired, slightly douchey anti-hero, as cool as he is arrogant and the perfect foil to both Daenerys and Jorah Mormont.

At the time of his departure - after just three episodes - it was reported that he dropped out to lead The Transporter, but Skrein himself refuted that, vaguely hinting that it was much more "political" than that. It sounds an awful lot like he wasn't asked back.

He was replaced by Michiel Huisman for a far more warm presentation of the character (and one with considerably less edge).
