Game Of Thrones: 5 Ups And 5 Downs From The Dance Of Dragons
7. Jon Returns - Down
Following the epic Battle of Hardhome last week, Jon returns to The Wall accompanied by what remains of the Nights Watch he took with him, and the wildlings he set out to rescue. Hes greeted frostily (is there any other way at Castle Black?) by Alliser Thorne, who does at least tell him that he has a good heart, before adding the kicker: Itll get us all killed. Despite Sams words of encouragement, its clear that many of his brothers arent too happy with Jons actions. Those tensions were rising before he even left for Hardhome, so now that hes back and many have died (and been raised again) its only going to escalate, which isnt good news for the Lord Commander, especially judging from the way Olly is staring daggers at him.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
