Game Of Thrones: 8 Potential Spin-Offs (And How They Might Work)
3. The Doom Of Valyria
One of the most striking yet enigmatic events in A Song Of Ice And Fire history is the Doom of Valyria, a catastrophic event that took place nearly four-hundred years before the War of the Five Kings. The Doom of Valyria resulted in the utter anihilation of the city of Old Valyria, leading to the conquest of the Seven Kingdoms by House Targaryen.
Society has always been drawn to tales of apocalypse, fascinated by life leading up to the event, how the event unfolds and the aftermath. A spin-off about Valryia just before The Doom and the catastrophic results (a war-torn time referred to the Century of Blood) would be incredible.
For show only fans, there'd be enough disaster and destruction to appeal, and for book fans, exploring the question of what exactly caused The Doom would be very rewarding. A reveal would be brilliant, but even if George R. R. Martin didn't fancy answering that particular question the show could still focus on the various beliefs and speculations in Westeros and the greater world following The Doom.
