How could you not immediately feel some affection for the guy who basically blazed a trail for the resurrection of Jon Snow? Thanks to his own personal priest of the Lord Of Light, Beric is basically the antithesis of everything Game Of Thrones stands for, in that he's essentially unkillable.

Well, he's not unkillable, but he's undeadable.

Having cameoed in the first season (played by an entirely different actor, in fact), Beric returned for season 3 as the head of the Brotherhood Without Banners and challenged the Hound to a fight, in which he used a magically flaming sword, died and was revived immediately. You don't have much bigger impacts than that.

He's a bit of a sh*t, having sold Gendry to Melisandre, but in the morally murky waters of Westeros, he's more of an anti-hero, and it's a shame we haven't seen much more from him. Hopefully now that he's with the Hound on better terms, we'll see some sort of supergroup formed. But then again, he'll probably die again and not be revived.
