He's the kind of rich benefactor anyone looking to make a big play for power would keep by their side, but since he was complicit in turning Dany into a commodity, he might be wise to keep his head down, despite wanting her to win the Great Game.

He's not in the show a great deal, but he has significant impact, suggesting a great, conspiratorial mind to rival Varys' and an end-goal that is just as complex, given that he installs Jorah as a spy and reports back to King's Landing on her activities.
