Game Of Thrones: All The Hidden Messages & Meanings In Season 8 Teaser Trailer
3. Sansa Becomes Queen In The North
Last we come to Sansa's statue, which again looks roughly the same age as the character does now, although she could be a little older if you account for the fact the crude work can't exactly convey an age.
What's most interesting about Sansa in this teaser is that both the living version and the statue are placed in the middle of Jon and Arya. In death, they are flanking her side; in life, they are drawing their swords, ready to protect her.
That could, quite simply, be down to the fact she's their sister, doesn't have a weapon, and isn't a trained fighter like they are. But the way it's framed, and in the interests of some speculation (because that's what these teasers are designed for), with her in the middle and slightly behind the others, is very much how you'd see people protecting their Queen. Jon Snow may have been crowned King in the North, but it's Sansa who is Ned's child, not him, and she's also proven herself to be an adept ruler in his absence.
Once the war is done, will we see Sansa take on the role of Queen in the North, either bestowed upon her by Jon (who'd have a different throne awaiting him anyway), the Northerners, if they reject having Rhaegar's son as King, or because Jon's died?
