The episode that finally ended nine long months of terrible lying from HBO and Kit Harington, Home ends with the resurrection of Jon Snow. Even though we knew it was coming it's a momentous occasion, and the way the show wrings tension from the scene is some excellent direction of Jeremy Podeswa.

There's much more to the episode than just that moment though. Ramsay kills his father at Winterfell, Theon gives a surprisingly emotional farewell to Sansa, Euron Greyjoy storms onto the scene, and the highlight of the episode is Tyrion's humorous, touching conversation with the dragons.

Really, this should be number 1, for the sole reason that this is the episode that not only gives us the best character on the show (Bronn) but does so by pairing him with the show's second best character (Tyrion).

That particular personal bias aside, however, this is an important early episode, which really sets the wheels in motion. Daenerys begins to turn against Viserys, Littlefinger truly starts being, well, Littlefinger, and Catelyn Stark arrests Tyrion, which wasn't the wisest move. It's a talky episode, but the one that proved just how well Thrones could do them.
