As he tells Davos, he will only march forward, regardless of whether its to victory or defeat. That stubbornness may well prove to be his eventual downfall, especially given the storm he and his men will be riding in, but for now Stannis is still a man wielding power. That is even more evident in his rejection of Melisandre, who wants to use his daughters blood to aid him in his fight. Not with leeches, as has previously worked, but by killing her. The father-daughter bonding between Stannis and Shireen a couple of episodes ago pays off here, as he refuses to sacrifice his daughter.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
