Once again, Brienne has resumed her wandering in the wilderness. Finally she had a purpose again, but within a few short episodes, the siege ended, her Jaime reunion drew to a close and the Blackfish perished. *slow clap*

So what next? Well, Brienne will be heading back to the North, but how long will that take? Season 6 has seen a few big leaps around the world, suggesting the timescale is far greater than other runs of the show.

Assuming Brienne does make it back to Sansa in time for battle, she’s got the exact stature of a character whose death would upset fans but not destroy the show. However, it wouldn’t seem like the most natural death. Her demise hasn’t particularly been teased or built up and that could be enough to spare Brienne.
