Game Of Thrones Season 3: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

9. Joffrey's Comeuppance

Now betrothed to Margaery Tyrell after the events of season two, King Joffrey continues to sicken his family and subjects with his cruelty, much of which continues to be directed at his former wife-to-be, the innocent Sansa Stark, who instead becomes married to his uncle Tyrion, a man who has nothing but contempt for his nephew, who in turn has a special hatred for the only person who openly attempts to stem his abusive ways. This comes to boiling point on the day of Joffrey and Margaery's wedding, when a drunken Joffrey drops down dead in front of the entire court after publically insulting his uncle, which is likely to elicit cheers from viewers, but earns Tyrion a trip to the dungeons as he finds himself falsely blamed and imprisoned for the crime by his sister Cersei.
