Game Of Thrones Season 6: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Battle Of The Bastards'

It seemed that Wun Wun was always destined to die in this battle. Ever since he uttered the word "Snow" as a sign of his allegiance to Ned Stark's bastard, his card was probably marked. But damn, he went down in a show of glory.

With the numbers stacked against Jon and Sansa's army, Wun Wun was the wild(ling)card, with the size and strength to help overturn the severe disadvantages. He may be a giant who didn't say anything outside of that one-word utterance, but after the way he's fought alongside Jon - both at Hardhome and Winterfell - he's a character worthy of a proper sendoff, and our emotion when it happens.

It may not be as impactful as the death of someone like Tormund would've been, but when he crashes through the gates of Winterfell, and is ultimately felled himself, it's hard not to care. RIP, Wun Wun.
