6. Samwell Tarly Returns

Ok, so admittedly this scene isn't much more than a placeholder, and doesn't propel the story forward much more than we already knew. At the same time, though, it's the first appearance of Samwell Tarly in Season 6, and he was one of the last remaining main characters we hadn't seen yet this year, so for that reason alone it's an up.

The scene itself is pretty good too though, if for nothing more than the enjoyable interaction between Sam and Gilly. It's rare to find two characters who are both good and truly care for each other on this show, and there's a sweetness to them that separates it from a lot of the other pairings you see. It's a good reintroduction to them, and it promises us that we're going to meet the Tarly family soon as well, which will be interesting to see, if mostly for Randyll.
