Sadly, the return of Osha and Rickon was not a happy one, as not only were they handed over to Ramsay Bolton, but in order to prove Rickon's identity, Smalljon Umber also presented the severed head of Rickon's pet direwolf Shaggydog.
Fans are naturally devastated about the revelation, much more so than many of the human characters who have fallen in recent episodes. Haven't we seen enough direwolf death over the course of the show already? Make it stop.
Hopefully someone is keeping a close eye on Jon Snow's direwolf Ghost. Speaking of which...
