Game Of Thrones Season 6: 7 Things You Might've Missed In 'The Red Woman'

5. Trystane Was Painting Mrycella's Eye Stones

Trystane Martell's death won't really mean much to most viewers, because there wasn't ever a reason to really care about him. He was just sort of there, and didn't do an awful lot. Still, he seemed like an honest, good person, so naturally he received a bloody end.

Although there was some initial confusion about where his death took place, and how he made it back to Dorne so fast, his death does actually take place on the boat docked at King's Landing (the question of how the Sand Snakes got there is probably better left unsaid).

There is a nice little touch to this scene though, before the bloody murder and cringey dialogue. It's not entirely clear at first what Trystane is doing, but he's painting the eye stones that will be placed over Myrcella's actual eyes, as is Westerosi custom (seen in the first episode of last year with Tywin, which is another callback, I guess). It's a small moment, but one that actually does more for Trystane than anything in Season 5 managed.
