Game Of Thrones Season 6: 7 Things You Might've Missed In 'The Red Woman'

4. Heir To The Iron Islands

Game of Thrones Jon Snow blood Targaryen

"You played your games with [Sansa], you played your games with the heir to the Iron Islands, and now they're both gone."

Roose's words are obviously meant to serve as a stark (no pun) warning to his son about his behaviour, and the price of what he's lost, but there could be some other meaning to them as well.

He refers to Theon as the heir, rather than by his name. Now that could just be Roose's way, but this feels like a very timely reminder of just who Theon actually is. The Ironborn are coming back into it in a big way this year, with the return of Yara and Balon, and the arrival of Euron. It's also expected that, at some point, a new King will be crowned there.

Reminding fans of Theon's position feels like it could be hinting at a return home for him, and a potential challenge to the crown. Or maybe I'm just really over-analysing...
