Game Of Thrones Season 6: 7 Things You Need To Know About Euron Greyjoy
2. Sailing For War
Installed as the King of the Isles and wanting to make good on his promises, Euron's first move is to launch an attack on the Reach, an area controlled by House Tyrell from Highgarden. To start off with these attacks are centred on the Shield Islands, and are largely successful. The Iron Fleet is currently raiding up the Mander, the largest river in the Reach, and are next set to launch a raid on the Arbour, which is the seat of House Redwyne. That in itself could be a pretty big battle, but there's going to be far more to come as well. This could even include an attack on Oldtown, home of the Citadel and the Maesters, or even Highgarden itself, taking the Ironborn directly into conflict with the Tyrells. These could tie him into a much larger story, as Samwell Tarly is headed for Oldtown, while Randyll Tarly, Sam's father and one of the most respected and fearsome warriors in Westeros, rules at Horn Hill, which is again part of the Reach. The potential of a showdown between Euron and Randyll (who may be the character Ian McShane is playing) is super exciting, and would make for some fantastic viewing.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
