Likelihood: Not If You Believe The Jon Snow Rumours Melisandre has miraculously transformed from being the character everyone wanted dead, to being the character everyone wants to survive, in a heartbeat. Jon Snow is dead (again, shock horror) though Melisandre has arrived at Castle Black, setting up a tantalising prospect of a fiery resurrection. Her role as Stannis' manipulator is over, and she needs a new purpose, is this it? Any potential return for Jon may not necessarily come in the opening episode, but if it does, would Melisandre prove her loyalty to the 'Lord of Light' by sacrificing herself to save Jon? She'd die a hero in the eyes of fans who've only seen her as a horrific presence so far.
