Causes Of Death: Stabbed in the chest by Ramsay; fed to the hounds.

Roose Bolton was the cold, calculating figure holding the leash that Ramsay was attached to. However, in letting his son off, he signed his own death warrant. The was a sense of poetry in the way Roose died, given that it mirrored the manner in which he slid his own dagger into the chest of Robb Stark at the Red Wedding. And it served as a slight mid-episode shock, although his days were numbered as soon as he married Walda and the pair announced they were having a baby, plus it also served to install Ramsay as the new Lord of Winterfell and Warden in the North; a necessary move ahead in working towards the Battle of the Bastards.

As for Walda and the baby, their death didn't offer an awful lot except another reminder (like the Osha death that would come later) of just how vicious he is, which wasn't really a reminder we needed, and the show would've worked just fine without killing off a woman and her baby at the teeth of some hounds.
