All through Season 6 the Waif had made it her mission to make life as miserable as possible for Arya. Although ostensibly part of her Faceless Man training, the Waif took a clear delight in doling out repeating beatings to the blind girl, accompanied by vicious taunts.

It all built to their final showdown, with the Waif giving a Terminator-esque chase to a wounded Arya. The sequence itself offered some thrills, especially as the longer it meant on the more he tables began to turn, until finally the Waif was lured into the cave Arya had stored Needle, and killed off-screen.

Had we seen it happen then this might be higher-up, but then I'm not so sure we really needed to see it anyway. For a start, it was happening in the pitch black, to give Arya the advantage, so there wouldn't have been much to see. Plus we'd be witnessing Arya make another kill soon enough, and the impact needed to be saved for that.

As it is, Arya killed off not only the Waif, but her long-running, slow-moving Braavos storyline, which in itself is something to be thankful for.
