Game Of Thrones Season 7: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Spoils Of War'
4. Stark Reunion
What? No, shut up, YOU'RE crying.
Bran's return last week was kinda off and not as expected, but thankfully this week gives us a bigger and much better Stark reunion.
After making her way inside Winterfell (the scene with the guards was pretty humorous too, while Arya pausing to take Winterfell in was beautiful) and heading to the crypts, Arya and Sansa Stark are reunited at last. And this time, we get a hug that feels genuinely warm (even if the sisters often disliked each other), and is packed with emotion.
It's slightly awkward, but there's real affection there too, and plenty of callbacks to their shared history (which they have much more of than Sansa and either Bran or Jon). It's probably helped by the fact that Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams are very close friends in real life, as they hit every note perfectly.
Later, we get a more complete reunion, as Arya meets with Bran as Sansa watches on. The Bran scenes this week are a definite improvement on last, as he shows some awareness of who he is (or isn't), and comes off less creepy as a result. That Meera scene was harsh though, given all she's done for him (and hopefully that isn't the last we've seen of her - maybe next time she'll bring her father along too!).
