Game Of Thrones Season 7: 12 Most Anticipated Moments

7. A Meeting Of Ice And Fire

Jon Daenerys
HBO

With apologies to Tyrion Lannister (who has become more of a supporting character recently), Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen are the two biggest characters on the show. They're the two heroes, the ones whose journeys we've followed most closely, and the human embodiments of ice and fire.

Thus far, however, they've been kept worlds apart. Jon has been stationed at the northernmost point of (civilised) Westeros, and Daenerys has been about as far as anyone goes in the other direction. This year, though, that's about to change, and we're going to get the biggest collision of characters the show can possibly offer.

Based on how great it was when Dany met Tyrion, this should at least be equal to that with the stature of the two characters. Add in the fact that they're both rulers, and relatives (even if they don't know it), and the scene takes on added importance.

We know that Daenerys "holds court" in episode 3, The Queen's Justice, which is probably when we'll get the big Jon-Daenerys scenes. He'll attempt to convince her to fight in the real war, she'll probably remain focused on the Iron Throne.

There's no denying the importance of their meeting, and not much highlights how close to the end we are like this, and seeing them finally come together is a massive moment for the series.
