Game Of Thrones Season 7: Ranking The Probability Of 13 Major Character Deaths In 'Beyond The Wall'
4. Tormund Giantsbane

The Case For
Beyond the Wall, which is where he comes from, seems like a fitting place for Tormund to die, and it's even more fitting for him to go down fighting. Tormund's connection to the story is through Jon, and this would mean the King in the North suffers a horrible loss to the White Walkers and raises the stakes further for him, as it's nigh-on impossible he himself will die. Tormund doesn't have a lot to do in terms of narrative, hence why he was sent to Eastwatch and disappeared from the show for a few episodes, and that makes him a strong contender to die (sorry, Simon): it'd hurt, but wouldn't massively change things. He's been incredibly loyal to Jon Snow, and there's definitely a chance he could die while saving his King's life.
The Case Against
Tormund is a magnificent, luxuriant creature, and him dying is horrible to think about. He's also a hell of a warrior, and one who - unlike most of the others - has real experience of being beyond the Wall and surviving, and that includes fighting wights at Hardhome. He's done it once, so there's a chance he can do it again.
