Game Of Thrones Season 7: Ranking The Probability Of 13 Major Character Deaths In 'Beyond The Wall'

3. Dolorous Edd (And A Lot Of Redshirts)

The Case For

Dolorous Edd isn't part of the Seven, but we've already seen from various trailers (both the episode promo and the main Season 7 ones) that there are more than just that group, even if the circumstances of how they join the fight are unclear (Castle Black and Eastwatch aren't exactly close together, but then that doesn't matter much this season). From the looks of it, Edd is a part of that, and since he hasn't really featured much in the show for some time now, is a good bet to die, along with a lot of other Night's Watch members and wildlings. There are going to be a lot of Redshirt deaths, and Edd could be the recognisable face of that. There isn't much use for the Watch on the series without Jon being there, and since the Wall is probably coming down they're dead one way or another, so they might as well die in battle.

The Case Against

Again, there could be a case of being misled here. Perhaps we're just seeing them run out for a rescue mission to bring in whoever survives - thinking back to the main trailers, we had that scene of an injured-looking Jon riding off on a horse - rather than Edd actually being involved in the battle. That would mean he does survive, and that there's a recognisable face at the Wall when it comes down, which is, er, nice.
