4. Tyrion Lannister

Tyrion is a bit of a tough character to place heading into the finale. At one point, it seemed almost unthinkable that the show would ever kill him off, given his status as its best and often smartest character, and one whom George R.R. Martin himself clearly had a lot of affection for too.

Now though? The show has spent a long time making him look like an idiot, and spent a lot of this season doubling down on those bad decisions. So it's more believable they would get rid of him. He's also been advising Dany, badly, and presumably has to turn against her now when she's at her worst. There's a chance she'll simply turn around and have him killed, like she did with Varys.

Those bad decisions, though, might be what saves him: maybe by taking him down a few pegs and establishing a situation where he could die, we'll get one last "clever plan" from Tyrion that allows him to keep on surviving, because he should have a role to play in rebuilding Westeros.
