2. A Dragon Rises

This is by no means set in stone, but everything is pointing towards the appearance of an ice dragon by the end of the season.

According to one particularly compelling rumour, when Dany heads North to rescue Jon's seemingly doomed party, she will lose one of her dragons to the white army - yet another devastating loss to her forces.

But the problems will not end there. We already know that the Night King's army (in the books at least) include zombie beasts (ice spiders most chillingly) as well as revived humans, so it's pretty clear that his powers extend beyond manflesh. And it seems we're going to see an incredible display of that power when he crowns the season by bringing Dany's dead dragon back to life to join his own forces ahead of a stunning dragon v dragon face-off in the final season.
