Game Of Thrones: 10 Spoilers Learnt By The Released Episode Titles

8. Arya Will Get Needle Back

The Game Of Thrones episode titles have often been quite multifaceted, with double meanings (see for example The Bear And The Maiden Fair, which is named after a song from the books which seems to apply to Jorah Mormont and Daenerys, but also refers in this case to Brienne and the bear she is made to fight). It is not too much of a stretch to imagine that Two Swords can refer to Ice and Needle, as well as Widow's Wail and Oathkeeper. Arya loses her sword to Polliver, a Lannister man-at-arms, while she is being held captive at Harrenhal in Season 2. As it was a gift from her beloved half-brother Jon Snow, she misses it terribly, and adds Polliver to her kill list because of this and because he beats a woman at Harrenhal who asked him for food. In the books, as Arya is travelling to the Eyrie from the Twins with the Hound, they come across Polliver and some other Lannister men at an inn. A fight breaks out when the Lannister men realise that the Hound is no longer faithful to Joffrey and Cersei, and the Hound manages to kill them all, though at great cost: he is very badly wounded. Arya is able to retrieve Needle from Polliver's corpse. Linking back into the episode title and also considering that Arya is in the right place at the moment, television-wise, her reunion with her weapon is very likely indeed.
