Game Of Thrones: 10 Spoilers Learnt By The Released Episode Titles

7. Jaime Will Declare His Intention To Lead The Kingsguard

One of Jaime's greatest moments in the book is when he defies Tywin over leaving the Kingsguard and taking up his place as the heir of Casterly Rock. Tywin is adamant that Jaime can break his vows and leave; he argues that there is precedent since Cersei dismissed Ser Barristan Selmy. Jaime for the first time in his life stands up to his father and declares he will not break the vows he took when he joined the Kingsguard. The trailers show a lot of Jaime in his white Kingsguard armour and they also show him reading The Book Of The Brothers, the White Book of the Kingsguard that's usually in the possession of the Commander. In the books Jaime becomes Commander so it's fair to assume that he does this fairly early on in the series, before Joffrey's wedding; the trailers show him talking to Joffrey while wearing his Kingsguard armour. Hopefully his argument with his father will be included; it's one of Jaime's defining moments, and shows him becoming more independent, a remnant of his time with Brienne, whose dedication to her vows to Catelyn Stark must have rubbed off on him somehow. It could also be when he receives Oathkeeper from Tywin, so it would make sense to include this in Two Swords as well.
