Game Of Thrones: 12 New Characters Set For Season 5
7. Areo Hotah
To finish out the cast of Dornish newcomers, we have Areo Hotah. A warrior originally from the Free City of Norvos, Hotah joined the service of Doran Martell and eventually rose to a position as one of the prince's most trusted guards and protectors. As an outsider to the Dornish way of life, he does not fully embrace every aspect of the culture; he is, however, absolutely loyal to Prince Doran, and will therefore prove an invaluable asset to him as he finds himself surrounded by the lethal Sand Snakes in the wake of Oberyn's death. Areo Hotah is likely not going to be the most influential new character to emerge in Season 5, quite possibly serving merely as the Jory to Doran's Ned Stark. While Hotah is a point-of-view character in the fourth and fifth books of "A Song of Ice and Fire," his is also one whose significance can be seriously cut down without much cost to the story. Nevertheless, the fact that he is indeed going to be cast - and that HBO is specifically looking to select a non-Latino character - shows that Areo Hotah will play his part in the story as he interacts with members of the Martell family...and clashes with a few Snakes.
Fiction buff and writer. If it's on Netflix, it's probably in my queue. I've bought DVDs for the special features and usually claim that the book is better than the movie or show (and can provide examples). I've never met a TV show that I won't marathon. Follow on Twitter @lah9891 .
