Game Of Thrones Season 4: 10 Things Fans Who Haven't Read The Books Want To See

7. The Hound And Arya Bond

Arya Stark was always an adventurous girl, but seeing her father killed before her eyes sent her on a mission of vengeance that belied her ten years of age. Posing as a boy and joining with other Night's Watch recruits, she comforted herself by repeating a chilling mantra: Cersei, Joffrey, Ilyn Payne, The Hound. These are the people whom she considers responsible for her father's death, and whom she vows to kill. Of course, nothing goes easily. First, the Night's Watch recruits are held hostage by the Lannisters, and then, they're caught by the nomadic Brotherhood Without Banners. Though the Brotherhood treats Arya well as a captive, they realize her value when her true identity is revealed... by Joffrey's old guard, The Hound, who recognizes her in an inn. The Brotherhood, with whom Arya had started to feel at home, decides to ransom her to the Lannisters. It's The Hound who saves Arya from that situation, kidnapping her and planning on taking her to the Starks at House Frey's castle for the royal wedding in order to receive a reward (that doesn't go so well). Despite The Hound's gruff protection, Arya sticks to her hatred, vowing to kill him eventually. Come on, Arya! He's the closest thing you've had to a father since Ned Stark bit the dust! He was only tangentially involved in Ned's murder, and even though he's a bad guy, he's got his own unique sense of honor to which he adheres. Give the guy a chance... or at least, make it quick and painless.
