Game Of Thrones Season 4: 5 Places We’d Like To See Explored

2. Casterly RockCasterly Rock1 Given that the Lannisters are perhaps the most prominent family in Westeros, it's quite surprising that we have never actually seen their castle. Casterly Rock is carved out of a great stone hill which overlooks the city of Lannisport. Throughout history, 'The Rock' has remained an impenetrable fortress; aside from its natural defences, it is reinforced with strong walls and other structures, making it among the most formidable of all the great castles. Located beneath Casterly Rock lies the largest, most productive goldmine in the realm which has always provided the Lannisters with great wealth. There is also a system of tunnels and dungeons embedded in the formation, which in themselves must breed plot and intrigue, not to mention that the main entrance of the castle is supposedly a heavily guarded "giant lion's mouth". Like Highgarden, Casterly Rock is in an ideal location, with it being right on the west coast overlooking the Sunset Sea. Thus, I'm sure Casterly Rock would be quite a spectacle, and a worthy seat for the richest family in the realm.
