Games Of Thrones Season 7: What 'Eastwatch' Really Means
8. Tyrion's Plan
After missing the target with his big plans for Dany's conquest of Westeros and looking like an idiot, Tyrion was driven to drink once more and his superpowers were immediately unlocked as he came up with the incredible idea of going to kidnap a wight to take to Cersei as proof of the coming Long Night.
As ideas go, it's pretty out there, as it will lead to almost certain death for lots of people up against insurmountable, unfeasible odds, and there's some question over whether it's even possible. But all of that makes for great television, so that's all that counts.
It's rather fitting that it took Tyrion to turn back to alcohol to be inspired not only to get a wight, but also to meet with Jaime. And that meeting was just as important as the extraction plot will be, because it re-established Tyrion's humanity in Jaime's eyes and mended their bond.
If that doesn't come back in a big way when Jaime and Cersei's friction reaches boiling point, it will be very, very surprising.
