Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life - 10 Burning Questions The Revival Must Answer
What would the barefoot contessa do, and all the other questions Netflix's revival must answer.
Oy with the revival already!
After almost a decade away, it's just about time to return to Stars Hollow. Excitement has been building ever since Netflix announced that they were reviving the show for a four-part miniseries, and now, with its debut imminent, it's started to reach fever pitch.
We know that all the main players will be back, with the sad exception of Richard Gilmore (actor Edward Herrmann sadly passed away in 2014). What we don't know is just what they've been up to the last nine years, or what they'll be doing next.
Gilmore Girls infamously ended in a less-than-satisfactory way, with creator Amy Sherman-Palladino not involved in the final season. Its abrupt ending meant a lot of stories weren't fully resolved, and fans have been left with a number of burning questions - something that's only intensified as the revival draws closer.
A Year In The Life, then, has some big questions to tackle. And the fans need answers like Lorelai needs coffee in the morning (or anytime of day, really).
After all, Gilmore Girls' fans are extremely flexible. As long as everything is exactly the way they want it. Copper boom!
10. Has Stars Hollow Changed At All?
Stars Hollow is as much of a character as any of the humans on the show. It's a weird, charming little town, that very much has its own personality, and an extremely interesting mix of inhabitants.
So what does the Stars Hollow of 2016 look like? Is it still the cutesy, independent little town, or have bigger chains started to take over? Are all the old local businesses still going? Is Taylor still trying to control everything?
There's a lot the revival needs to get right, but a faithful recreation/update of Stars Hollow is going to be one of the keys to nailing it.
