Good Cop: 10 Reasons It Needs Another Series

Ten Reasons Why BBC Drama Good Cop Deserves A Second Series

Ever since the cancellation of The Bill in 2010, Police Dramas have come few and far between. So when the first episode of BBC's new cop drama Good Cop aired in August this year, fans of batons, sirens, epaulettes and black and white checkered cravats found themselves with something of an alternative to the long running ITV cop drama. Yet with Warren Brown of dark psychological crime drama Luther playing the lead role, it quickly became apparent to viewers that Good Cop would have more to it than just chasing down bad guys before getting home to a warm cup of tea. Indeed, it was one of the grittiest, compelling and somewhat ethically dubious Police Drama's for a good number of years, and its 4 episodes seemed to throw up more questions about the lead characters than it managed to answer by the time of its finale last Saturday. Viewing figures were somewhat favourable throughout the shows' run and always seemed to maintain at least 4 million UK viewers per episode, and in spite of the month-long postponement toward the end of the series due to the murders of real-life Police Officers Fiona Bone and Nichola Hughes in September, the show was still able to retain something of a cult following. So much so that we believe it deserves a second series. Click "Next" to find out why.
