Gotham: 12 Early Batman Moments That Must Be Adapted

4. Harvey Dent Becomes A Prominent Attorney

Although he hasn€™t been announced yet, it€™s likely that Harvey Dent will appear in Gotham at some point, though it€™s unlikely we€™ll see him in the first couple seasons since, like Bruce, he€™ll be in middle or high school. However, Harvey will probably appear near the end of the show€™s run, perhaps working for the city government and running into Gordon several times, building a rapport from which they can start forming an alliance and work together to bring down organized crime in Gotham City. In the comics, Harvey is elected District Attorney at age 26, six months before Batman shows up, which makes it unlikely that we will see the event, unless the show either runs for a long, long time, or decides to skip ahead a few years between seasons. If they establish him as a rising federal prosecutor, the audience will get the hint that this guy€™s important, and as with The Joker, the key will be to imply future developments, such as having him flick a coin absent-mindedly. That sort of fan service is exactly what Gotham needs to ensure that the resistance to just be another Batman adaptation doesn't drive it too far away from the source, which is its biggest selling point.
