Gotham Season 2: 10 Awesome Moments (And 4 That Sucked)

The Bad...

4. Psych! Barbara Is Alive

Well, not technically kicking; she€™s in a coma. Her time came but somebody didn't synchronize their watch with the others. What would have been a worthy death of the villainous vixen ultimately became a meaningless moment of momentary shock. Look, I€™m not the type of monkey who hated Skyler in Breaking Bad simply because she was a woman who was looking to protect her family from the €˜hero€™ that was the meth-making murderer Walter White. Don€™t think I feel this way about the revelation of Barabara€™s survival simply because she€™s a female. It€™s because she was especially poorly written in the first season and her descent into madness was an unconvincing slapdash of a manouevre that interested absolutely nobody. The Ogre symbolized a lot of what was initially wrong with Gotham and Barbara, her character and her appeal, suffered the most. Barabara was actually an important member of Galavan€™s cabal, due to her connection to Gordon, and provided some memorable moments. But she was still the €˜crazy ex€™ who was now super into bondage because you apparently need to be insane to want to have candle wax dripped onto your nipples, making your chest look like a sad KKK party. When her story was clearly, mercifully, heading to a desired climax which would have signified a turning of the page for the show and its main protagonist, we all cheered. Barbara nearly went out with a bang but it was merely a fizzle. She€™s alive and I am holding out hope that she is going to turn out to be anyone but (shudder) Harley Quinn. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEFO10kFCJU
