Gotham Season 2: 10 Reasons To Be Excited
9. It's Going To Be A Lot More Serialized
The first season had numerous episodes that became a little too familiar and paint by numbers', with each episode introducing a new villain and ending with them being carted off to a cell. It was fun, but predictable. Thankfully, this format seems to be getting shaken up for Season 2 and none other than Jim Gordon himself, actor Ben McKenzie in refreshing honesty, was quick to point out the flaws of Season 1:I think we made a mistake relatively early on in trying to introduce a villain and take care of that villain in one episode: catch them, send them to Arkham, do whatever. That was just a mistake. We shouldve never done it."The audience really wants to understand who these people are and live with them, sit with them and enjoy them, Whether theyre evil or good, they are entertaining. So thats what were doing in Season 2. really kick ass. I think its exactly what the fans want to see.
The sophomore season looks to be building upon the foundation of Gotham and its colourful cast of characters established in Season 1, by focusing on longer story arcs. Judging from the first episode alone, it is clear that there is a game-plan for Gotham; both the show and the city.
