5. Supporting Characters
Today she's The Question, but before that she was just Rene Montoya. A character that was originally created for Batman: The Animated Series, and has gained significant momentum ever since. She is just one of the major supporting characters that the series can have to offer. So much time is put into the villains and the big heroes, that people forget that at the focal point of these universes are the supporting characters that are in the middle of the plots. It is in these characters that SHOULD appear on the Gotham series that an extended universe can spin from. Characters like Montoya who becomes The Question after the prior incarnation passes on, and Crispus Allen who gets betrayed by a fellow police officer and becomes The Spectre... The Spirit of Vengeance! But when we are talking about all of the heroes and support of Gotham, Starling, Metropolis, and Central, it's hard to leave out a certain little ginger girl. Would anybody be surprised to see Barbara Gordon showing her red locks on Gotham? Doubt it. Barbara later becomes Oracle after being left in a wheel chair, due to a meeting with The Joker (Killing Joke). Oracle has been an indispensable ally to Batman, and his allies within the Justice League and beyond. These seemingly little characters could truly be the ones to open up their contained world and start a shared DC Universe.
