20 TV Shows That Failed To Stick The Landing

6. Killing Eve

Killing Eve

In hindsight, Killing Eve was always going to end with tragedy, the only problem is that when it finally did, it rushed what should have been a much more considered farewell with shock value over emotional substance.

In the final season of the thrilling cat-and-mouse saga, MI6 officer Eve (Sandra Oh) and lethal assassin Villeneuve (Jodie Comer) come together to destroy the assassin organisation the Twelve, which was fitting given their complicated history of animosity and, eventually, shared affection.

The final clash makes for quite the ride, the pair working together to destroy their enemies and grow closer until finally admitting their feelings, a long-awaited development that allows both women a chance to share a rare moment of happiness and peace.

That is, until Villeneuve is killed by an unseen sniper in a last-second rug pull. No, Villeneuve and Eve were never destined to ride off into the sunset together, but the latter's death - mixed with the ambiguous fate of the former, left destroyed and stranded - should have been given more time to play out.
