Green Arrow's 10 Greatest Failures

2. Shot Jonathan Kent Accidentally - Injustice: Year One

When Batman first formed his insurgency in the Injustice universe, he was originally against bringing Green Arrow into the fold.

After a lot of arguing, Bruce eventually allowed Oliver to come with them on a mission to infiltrate Superman's Fortress of Solitude and recover super-powered pills that allow any human to stand up to the deranged Kryptonian in a fistfight.

Of course, the mission goes horribly wrong. When they break into the fortress they discover Superman's human parents, the Kents, hiding inside. However, before they can turn around and leave, the Man of Steel breaks into the fortress and attacks Batman's group.

Oliver tried to distract Superman by firing arrows at him knowing they won't even scratch his cape. What he didn't expect was for an arrow to bounce off Superman and fly right into Jonathan Kent's shoulder, injuring him. This obviously enraged the Man of Steel who then proceeded to pulverize the Emerald Archer to death.

While it truly was an accident, Ollie endangered innocent humans while trying to distract Superman, and was only just able to save a pill to complete the mission before his death.

This death of the Green Arrow is slightly better than some of his other deaths, but it was still all because the highly trained archer wasn't aware of his surroundings when taking on a man faster than a speeding bullet.
