4. Poor Patrice
It's hard to judge whether this was meant to be a throwaway gag that carried on too long or whether the writers totally misjudged how people would view these interactions, but the way that Robin treats Patrice is played for laughs while being nowhere near funny.
Patrice is an outgoing, kind and considerate co-worker of Robin's who is constantly trying to do her best for everyone around her and seemingly annoying Robin in the process. She is often met with the outburst "NO ONE ASKED YOU PATRICE!" whenever she does anything. Here is a small sampling of things she did that merited this reaction;
Patrice happy for Nora when Barney was giving her gifts and singing to her.
Patrice offered Robin a place at her apartment when she needed somewhere to stay, which she didn't accept despite Patrice making an effort just in case.
Patrice had Robin move in for a while, and was told she was "smothering her" by doing nice things to help her out.
Patrice almost gets fired by Robin when she is pretending to date Barney.
There are more examples than this, but Robin bullies, belittles and is truly terrible to her throughout the show and for no good reason.
