How I Met Your Mother: 10 Worst Things Robin Ever Did
3. Ted's Girlfriends
While the number of women that are romantically involved in Ted's life over the course of nine seasons is fairly prolific (especially when you consider this is a man telling these stories to his children...), there is generally a theme that these interactions follow -
Ted meets a woman and becomes infatuated in an unlikely manner and a short time frame. His friends are initially guarded, but eventually supportive. Robin doesn't like them. Ted either tries to be super-romantic (which usually plays out as creepy), or makes some error in judgement. The woman leaves, and Ted is heartbroken.
When it becomes obvious that Robin never likes anyone being interested in Ted, you notice that she treats every one of the women with disdain, and occasionally proper nastiness.
His long-distance relationship with Victoria breaks down because he lies about breaking up with her to sleep with Robin, who loses interest after. Even the day he is marrying Stella, she is still angling for him because he is about to escape.
She rarely has anything kind to say about any woman that she views as a rival, and legitimately can't bring herself to be happy for someone who is meant to be her friend.
