Nick is a chef with a cooking show on a local TV station. His show is full of awkward and sometimes cringey signature cooking catchphrases. He is overly emotional and needy. He also happens to possess below-average intelligence, believing that dolphins and Gypsies are fictional. The gang notices all this but Robin is too busy getting boned to realise the man is a bonehead.

She only notices Nick is kinda dumb when he pulls his groin muscle playing basketball and they stop having sex. Conversation becomes stilted and the gang prompts her to break up with him. She uses all clichés in the book but Nick never gets any of them. Robin gets distracted by Nick’s sex talk, prompting Barney to come in and dump him for her.
