At this point in the show, we knew that Sukuna was a pretty powerful cursed spirit. After all, you don't get called the undisputed King of Curses for nothing. However, during his battle with Gojo, he wasn't able to really showcase how powerful he truly is.

So when Sukuna takes over Yuji's body after he's nearly killed by the special grade curse, he decides to put on a pretty impressive beating. From violently slamming the curse's head into the ground to ripping its arm off without it even realising, Sukuna makes it pretty clear that even though they're both referred to as special grade curses, they're definitely not on the same level.

He proves this even further by unleashing his Domain Expansion, Malevolent Shrine. As you can see from the video, it's clear that as soon as Sukuna took over Yuji's body there would only be one winner.
