Yet another criticism fans frequently have for modern-day comic book-based media is that they all seem rather uniform in their structure. More specifically, many seem to adhere to a universal "superhero formula", as it were. Yet again, Legion is all but unmatched in its unabashed defiance of what is considered normal or expected for the genre. Many, many different words could be used to describe Legion's story, but formulaic sure isn't one of them.

Legion is incredibly original in just about every single way in terms of how it's structured. There's never really a set rhyme or reason as to what will happen or when it will happen, and this lends itself to the show's brilliantly confounding nature perfectly. Then, just when you think you have all of the answers, Legion changes all of the questions (and then some.) You have absolutely no idea what to expect going into each episode, and by the end of it you will be itching for more.

More importantly, while the mystique of it all is certainly perplexing, it's also not terribly hard to follow in the slightest, due to how incredibly enthralling all of it is. You will watch with piqued interest from beginning to end, as you constantly find yourself asking what's real, who's telling the truth, and how the situation at hand will possibly be resolved.

It's a fresh spin that the comic book genre very much needed, making it feel like a brand-new experience through and through.
