2. Will The Truce Between Summerland And Division Three Last?
The finale also sets up another dangling plot thread for season 2. Now that the Shadow King is on the loose, David and Clark agree that Summerland and Division Three need to team-up to stop the mutant parasite. It's a nice idea that should give a new narrative thrust to the next run.
But for how long can the two previously sworn enemies play nice together? If we are right and that sphere does come from the higher-ups of Division Three, then it seems the truce is already over before it started. It makes sense - the Division still sees David as a threat to society so they want him out the way, even if there is a much worse threat running about.
That is assuming that the true motivation behind Division Three's actions is that they believe they are protecting mankind from the threat of mutants. Maybe they actually want to harness David's abilities for their own ends?
