Legion Season 2: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
1. David/Legion
It felt like many people underestimated how good Dan Stevens was in Legion season 1. He was tremendous as a man torn apart by the demon sitting in his head, but it perhaps wasn't as attention-grabbing a performance as some of his co-stars so it was unfairly overlooked.
Season 2 seems to have put that right, though, and as it ensured that viewers took notice of Stevens' performance by really stretching his range. Most notably, Chapter 14 saw him get to play numerous different Davids - young, old, rich, poor, good, evil - across the multiverse.
As for the mainstream David, despite Farouk being out of his head, we slowly discover that he still has his own psychological issues to deal with - and it is these that will drive him to become Legion, the World-Killer.
It's a ballsy move to turn your hero into a supervillain and while our affection for David might wane as his behavior becomes increasingly amoral and eventually abhorrent, our interest in him doesn't thanks to Stevens.
In particular, his descent into villainy in the finale is a tragic, self-fulfilling prophecy and Stevens nails the changes in David's persona as he embraces his dark side. No doubt he'll be just as impressive when he truly becomes Legion in season 3. And he'd better get that high-top haircut!
